King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah Saudi Arabia's embraces the first scientific association that specializes in distance education which leaded  by the Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General)

The society was established on 10/9/1427 AH, just when the international community to what is new in the world of distance education, What is this but a clear indication and stressed the Kingdom's determination to keep pace with scientific and technical progress that characterizes this era. The reasons for which it was behind many of the General and objectives of multiple, at a time of accelerating the pace of the adoption of distance education as a core program in some universities, such as parallel to the traditional education at other universities had to be the establishment of a scientific association adopt standards development, appropriate controls for the application of distance education in universities consistent with the foundations and axes of education.
